An access point should be placed from a coverage plan, not hidden wherever a power outlet is available. The survey considers the layout, walls, floors, users, device locations, wired routes and power before quantity and position are confirmed.

What is the difference between a router and an access point?

The router connects and directs the internal network and internet traffic. An access point provides wireless coverage from that network. One device may combine functions in a small home, but larger villas and offices often benefit from a router or gateway plus several planned access points connected to the wired backbone.

The internet provider's modem or router remains part of the provider relationship. Tajhaus defines only the internal equipment and configuration written into the project scope.

Where should an access point be installed?

Good locations serve the intended rooms without being sealed inside cabinetry or placed beside obstacles that absorb or reflect signal. Ceiling or wall positions may work, subject to the equipment and site. The right location also needs a clean data route and suitable power, often delivered through the agreed network design.

Do not count access points from square metres alone. Reinforced walls, floor slabs, stair cores, meeting-room density and outdoor areas can matter more than headline floor area.

Is wired backhaul better than wireless repeating?

Where feasible, a wired connection gives each access point a dependable path back to the switch. A wireless mesh or repeater may be appropriate when new cabling is impractical, but it should be chosen after checking the link between units. Repeating a weak connection does not create a strong backbone.

How should access-point coverage be tested?

Testing should cover agreed working and living areas, not only the point directly below the device.
